NEW POLICIES EFFECTIVE 12/1/08
Current cancellation policies are still in effect!
Please remember, although we have many wonderful and exciting success stories each month, meeting a guest is never a guarantee of employment.
REGISTERING FOR SEMINARS
Once you have placed your registration order, the responsibility to know which seminars you are registered for is yours. You may set a reminder to have an email forwarded 24 hours in advance of your seminar in the "My Account" section of the site, however the lack of receipt of such an email does not release you from the accountability of attending.
All seminar registrations are able to be viewed in the "My Account" section of the site. This is your only confirmation. You may also print the page as your receipt for taxes or to keep a listing of what guests you have met.
You may register for more that one seminar per night. However, you may not register for seminars with conflicting times or formats. A group format requires you to attend from the start to the finish without leaving early.
Due to overwhelming response for the most popular seminars, we often have people standing by. If you are more than 10 minutes late to ANY seminar, AC reserves the right to replace you with an actor standing by.
If you call ahead to say you are running late, we will hold your space until you arrive. If you arrive without calling and we have replaced you, you will receive credit for the seminar. If you "no show," no credit will be given, even if you are replaced. Always call!
Our most popular format is the Q&A followed by work done ONE-on-ONE. You are expected to attend the Q&A's. The guests are sensitive to both latecomers and early leavers, and this is often resented by them and duly noted. The average total time for seminars is about 2 ½ hours. The order of the work is determined by the order in which you registered. Plan your schedule accordingly. Mandatory Q&A's are distinguished as such in the description of the seminar. This means the guest has specifically said that you will not be seen in the ONE-on-ONE if you are not at, or are late for, the Q&A. Calling to say you are running late for these seminars is not applicable and no credit will be given. For cold-paired scene formats, if you have not arrived by the time the scenes are passed out, you will not be admitted to the seminar and no credit will be given. Be on time and all possible conflicts will be avoided!
Since our guests are preeminent industry professionals, there are occasional postponements, substitutions, and cancellations. We do our best to reschedule or replace a guest with an equal-level guest from the same office. We apologize for any inconvenience and request your patience and understanding when this occurs.
PAYMENT POLICIES
Payment for seminars and classes are due at the time of registration. All unlimited seminar packages must be paid in full at the time of registration and have special rules surrounding their use.
We take cash and checks ($25 fee for any returned checks) in person at the office and Visa, MasterCard, and Discover in the office and on-line.
WE REGRET THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO GIVE REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
CANCELLATION POLICIES
If you cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled time of your seminar, you will not be charged. The policy for a class or special event is 7 days prior to the start date in order to receive credit for monies paid. It can be used for any and all programs at Actors Connection. There may be special cancellation policies for holidays that are printed in the schedule. It is YOUR responsibility to read and know any changes in policy due to holidays.
If you cancel in time, credit is automatically returned to your Actors Connection account. If you are canceling late, no credit is given unless we find a replacement for you. We have, on occasion, been able to replace actors who late cancel with others from wait lists or who might be standing by. If you are replaced, as a courtesy, we will not charge you for the late cancellation. DON'T CALL THE OFFICE AND ASK HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON THE WAITLIST OR HOW LIKELY IT IS THAT YOU MIGHT BE REPLACED – this does not help your cause! Please consider any late cancellation a charge on your account, and any resulting replacement a courtesy. You may want to re-adjust your schedule to attend, since although we do our best to have full seminars we can never promise a replacement. The main reasons for late cancellations are illness and last-minute work. Much as we empathize with these situations, we would not be able to stay in business if we didn't charge, even when these situations occur.
If you are a "no show" for a seminar, you will not receive credit under any circumstances.
Always call! We might be able to replace you!
PROFESSIONAL COURTESY
Please be on time! Always check-in with both the receptionist and the AC Host for your seminar.
It makes a difference to both the guest and your fellow actors, especially with formats with paired scenes. For seminars with appointment times, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your time, since we sometimes run ahead of schedule. Give yourself enough advance time to use the restrooms, groom, and prepare your work.
The "work" in seminars is limited to 3 minutes. For monos/songs seminars, you may do both, however the total time should not exceed 3 minutes. This will leave you time to chat with the guest.
Do not rustle bags, mime your monologue, or talk to other actors when in the Q&A or group formats.
Observe the "Golden Rule" and be courteous while other actors are working.
This also means that you should limit your conversation in the halls directly outside of the studios.
Please listen to and respect the AC Hosts!
Be prepared with your material, your picture and resume, and dress appropriately. Do not call Actors Connection for the addresses of guests. This info is located on the dry erase boards in both spaces.
Don't call or drop by any agency or CD's office unless expressly asked to do so! It's just common sense! Always call if you are running late or if canceling – WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO REPLACE YOU!
