In Person: THEATER INTENSIVE with Rebecca Weiss CSA, Casting Director / Partner, McCorkle Casting

From one of NY's top theater and film/TV casting offices Rebecca is a casting director with over 10 years of experience in casting and artistic producing.
With McCorkle Casting, Rebecca casts for theater and film.
Casting for: Barrington Stage, A New Brain and English, for The Guthrie, The Importance of Being Earnest, for Premiere Stages, Selling Kabul, and the current season of new plays for Contemporary American Theater Festival.
Recent theater casting credits include Blues for an Alabama Sky at McCarter Theater, Clyde's, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and the world premiere of The Guttenberg Bible, for George Street Playhouse, Cabaret, and the world premieres of The Happiest Man on Earthand Tiny Father for Barrington Stage, Into the Woods and Hamlet for The Guthrie, Ain't Misbehavin' for Geva Theater / Westport, Fun Home for Studio Theater, Roe and Metamorphoses for Connecticut Repertory Theater, Morning's at Seven Off Broadway, as well as productions for City Theater, Playmakers Repertory Theatre, and Crossroads Theatre Company.
Rebecca will have received your headshots ahead of time and "cast" each actor in a theater scene, which you will be sent via email 1-2 days in advance.
The night will start off with a Q&A, and then you will read your sides with a reader. Rebecca will begin working with each actor in a group format. Be prepared for awesome feedback and training that will impact your auditions immediately.
Rebecca is always interested in meeting new talent - all types - all ethnicities -all ages (18+).

Rebecca Weiss
Rebecca Weiss, CSA (McCorkle Casting Partner/ Casting Director) has over a decade of experience in the theater industry, working first as a producer and dramaturg before transitioning full time to casting.
With a love for new work in particular, some favorite casting credits with McCorkle Casting have been the world premieres of Suzan-Lori Park's Sally & Tom for The Guthrie Theater, May Treuhaft Ali's ABCD for Barrington Stage Co, the feature films Eternal Buzz and The Mistress, Hallmark's A Spectacular Christmas and Ghosts of Christmas Always and numerous plays and musicals for Barrington Stage, The Guthrie, George Street Playhouse, McCarter Theatre Center, City Theatre, Playmakers Rep, Milwaukee Rep, and more.
As Literary Associate/ Executive Assistant to the Artistic Director at Barrington Stage Company, she was mentored by Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and worked on a wide range of productions as a dramaturg and line producer including the world premiere productions of Lloyd Suh's The Chinese Lady and Rachel Lynett's Well Intentioned White People, new plays including Bekah Brunstetter's The Cake, and more. As Associate Producer of Performing Arts Programs at Symphony Space, she worked on theater and music events including the annual Project Broadway series, the residencies of Rhiannon Giddons and The Magnetic Fields, and the annual marathon performance Wall to Wall.
Rebecca has produced and cast fourteen productions as Artistic Director of Spicy Witch Productions, including five world premieres by emerging female writers.She also serves as Writers Group Literary Coordinator at The Playwrights Realm, where she continues her passion for new play development and is a member of Casting Society of America. She holds a BA in Theater and Music from The University of Rochester.
