Total Prep Fusion is a one-day 7-hour intensive providing actors personal, in-depth instruction and practical, professional advice on the preparation process. This class combines Arvold-Warner’s core curriculum Total Prep 1 and Total Prep 2. Master teachers Erica Arvold and Richard Warner guide actors using the Arvold-Warner 10-step preparation checklist for creating characters for film and television. This multi-layered, progressive study is for intermediate adult actors, college-level and above. The Arvold-Warner approach is a synthesis of the major 20th century acting methods, with focus on supporting and developing each individual’s personal practice while also expanding their craft toolkit. Grounded in the detailed study of a scene, actors explore efficient, effective techniques for creating action-based characters for the audition as well as the set.
THIS SPECIAL POP-UP EVENT will give actors the benefit of working with both RICHARD WARNER and ERICA ARVOLD here in NY.

Actors will deepen their ability to create exciting, original and personal work. The first half of class is discussion and exercise based, and the second half is intensive coaching – please come prepared to work!

Richard Warner taught acting at the University of Virginia for 30 years where he had the honor of coaching, among many others: Tina Fey, Ben McKenzie (Gotham, The O.C.), Sean Patrick Thomas (Cruel Intentions, Barbershop), Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19), Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy, Everwood) and Emily Swallow (Supernatural, The Mentalist).
He was awarded the UVa’s Outstanding Teacher Award, the Mayo Distinguished Teaching Professorship and was selected as an inaugural member of the University Academy of Teaching. As an active member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, Richard studied In New York City with Michael Howard and performed at Manhattan Theatre Club, Chelsea Theatre Center, W.P.A. Theatre and Douglas Fairbanks Theatre. He has acted regionally in over one hundred roles in many prestigious regional theaters. Film credits include: Homer Benson in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln; Dr. Ezra Abbott in Ridley Scott’s Killing Lincoln; Chester Bowles in National Geographic channel’s Killing Kennedy; Vic LeClue in Patriot Son, winner of the 1998 LA Film Fest’s independent short category and selected to show at the Telluride Festival. In 2014 Richard played the lead opposite Grey’s Anatomy’s Sarah Drew in the short film, Waking Marshall Walker. This film was selected for viewing at over 40 film festivals. He created the role of L.P. Everett in the episode, “The 20% Solution” for the television program, Homicide, Life on the Street. As a director, he has staged Hamlet, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie, Hedda Gabler, Hay Fever, A Raisin in the Sun, Cloud Nine, Fuddy Meers, The Foreigner, A Man for All Seasons, Misalliance, Suddenly Last Summer, Six Characters in Search of an Author, Laramie Project, Lend Me a Tenor, Lost in Yonkers, Driving Miss Daisy, The Last Night of Ballyhoo and True West.
Erica Arvold has been an educator, guest instructor and speaker for over 25 years, sharing insights from a career as a casting director and producer that spans major studio films, television shows and multimedia projects. She has had the honor of collaborating with and serving students and faculty at universities, schools and acting studios across the country. Her multiple festival and conference appearances include serving as a panelist, moderator, mentor and host. She has been the keynote speaker for several organizations outside of the filmmaking industry as well. She is a member of the Casting Society of America, Producers Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Erica received her BFA from The Theatre School, DePaul University (formerly The Goodman School of Drama) and maintains her deep love of craft. Erica believes that consistent training leads to positive artistic growth.
